Been awhile.
Working on a new site finally, probably going to take a few months to comp and build, but whatever, so far I'm very psyched on it.
Going into record a full length at the the machine shop with Will Putney for Banquets first full length. It's getting released in Germany with Coffeebreath and Heartache, released in the US on Black Numbers.
Fest 9 was amazing, playing Home For the Holidays on Wed so hopefully that is good as well. Talks of going to Groezrock in 2012, we'll see. Doing a weekend in Germany/Belgium is the American dream I'm sure, or at least it's my American dream.
Be back soon!

Stuff I did this week
Built a video player for a fuse tv show:
Fuse - Lay It Down
I was supposed to get a new page up on threeolives, but it's going around work I guess. Honestly this week was a mess, had long meetings, had to wait for stuff, and I had a dentist appointment kill a day for me.
Going to reskin and reuse most likely, can just keep it as my own video player. Worked out well, think it's easy to edit. Finally used to working between Flash Pro and FlashBuilder 4.
I've been seeing a lot of discussion about what IDE is best etc and apparently at MAX next week John Lindquist is making his presentation discussing and comparing IDE's such as intelliJ, flashbuilder, and FDT.
IntelliJ looks really awesome when I see him using it in his video series Patterncraft, but my first attempts in setting it up were an utter failure. I just can't see it becoming popular with flash developers yet. Currently it just doesn't seem built for us, and the changing of short cuts from what most are used to in eclipse / flashbuilder will have a few people ripping their hair out.
I'm sure I'll move on from flashbuilder, it's class creation process could be better, but I love it's code hinting. Anything that has better code hinting than flash pro is just awesome.
Played a show wed night at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park. Sat in traffic for 3 hours, but show was awesome.
Off to fest next weekend, sure I'll be posting from there.
Come check us out, on at 8pm on Friday at 1982

Goddamn projection mapping is bad ass
Almost ruined by countless people trying to take flash photos of a projection, but still great

Epic Agency Fails
http://www.narrowdesign.com/future/
What's sad is that I haven't done a mobile version of my site yet either, still not even done doing the browser version. I'm positive within the next 5 years more than half of browsing will be done solely with a phone, so time to step up and keep our rep up.

New Website
I replaced my website finally. Nothing great, but it finally has some work on it, an easy way to contact me, and a link to this thing.
Sure I'll still be randomly updating it, there's a ton of stuff I haven't put on it yet and I don't even know if I like half of what's up there.
Check it out: http://www.christopherlarsen.com
Hope to be updating this more often now, I have a new job as a Flash Developer at LBi and I like to think I'll have more to show off as I become a better developer.
Sleep, later.
